#1122: Korea day 8 // Coffee Chu, Se7en Yeolbong Jjimdak & Cheonggyecheon Stream

Korea day 8~~~~

We've been having drinks in the morning just because we can and today's pick is this chocolate milk. Tastes pretty good (even though I still think Meiji's chocolate milk is the best, but this is as good as it's gonna get).

One thing I really like about Korea is the fact that you can drink and eat in the subway station and on the subway which is one thing we cannot do on Singapore trains. So while we were in Korea, DRINK AND EAT ON ALL THE TRAINS!!!!!! Heh.

And we took a photo to prove that we did it.

Our first stop of the day was to have churros for brunch! Apparently Coffee Chu is reputed to have really food churros so that's where we went to get our churro fix!

Address:
682-10, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Nearest Station:
Hangangjin

Yes, they actually made the churros right in front of you!

We got the Big 5 Set which basically consists of 5 flavours of churros. The Original, Milky Boy, Berry, Chocolate, and Peanut.

They were pretty pricey though. The Big 5 Set costed us like 15,000 won if I'm not wrong?

May I just say that the churros were really good?? Sadly, the churros you find in Singapore still can't compare to those found in Korea, even though I'm pretty sure churros did not originate from Korea.

Got some coffee to go with churros.

And then we explored around Itaewon but I think because we weren't in the correct area, there wasn't much to see.

We decided to pop into Gangnam area which is supposed to be the "Orchard Road" of Singapore I guess? There were really tall buildings with a lot of international and Korean brands available but we didn't shop much there.

Instead, we went to the underground shopping area which is pretty much similar to the shopping at Express Bus Terminal.

We had a late lunch at Se7en Yeolbong Jjimdak which serves really good chicken stew! I really recommend this place but I believe it isn't for people who cannot take spicy food?

I don't know if all the food there is spicy but the one we ordered was really spicy. But in a good way.

Address:
817-8 Gangnam-gu, Yeoksam-dong, 1st floor

Getting here:
1. Gangnam Station (Line 2), Exit 11
2. Walk straight and turn into the alley between Artbox and McDonalds
3. Turn into the first alley on the right
4. Turn left when you see Quarterback Cafe

After lunch (and shopping) we went to Cheonggyecheon Stream!

Until it was restored in 2005, Cheonggyecheon Stream existed  only as a neglected watercourse hidden by an overpass. Today, it has been transformed into a haven of natural beauty amidst the bustle of city life.

Address:
110, Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul

Getting here:
1. City Hall Station (Seoul Subway Line 1, 2), Exit 4
2. Walk 250m north to Cheonggye Plaza

Yellow ribbons were hung all around the stream to remember the people lost during the ferry incident in Korea :'(

We stopped for dinner at one of the eateries near our guesthouse and they served really simple but tasty Korean food.

One can never miss out on kimbap. I loveeeee sushi and I love kimbap even more hehe.
